Overview

PDF to Sheets ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome extension that extracts tables from PDF documents and exports them to Google Sheets, Excel, or CSV formats. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data We Process

PDF Files

  • PDF files you upload are sent to our servers for table detection and text extraction
  • Files are processed using AI models (YOLOv8 for table detection, PaddleOCR for text recognition)
  • Files are automatically deleted immediately after processing
  • We do not store, share, or retain your PDF files

Google Account Information

  • If you choose to log in with Google, we receive your email address
  • We use Google OAuth for authentication only
  • We request the following Google permissions:
    • drive.file - Create spreadsheets in your Google Drive
    • spreadsheets - Write extracted data to Google Sheets
    • userinfo.email - Identify your account
  • We can only access files we create — we cannot see or modify your other Google Drive files

Device Information

  • We generate a random device ID stored locally in your browser
  • This ID is used solely for feature access and usage limits
  • No personal information is derived from this ID

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not track your browsing history
  • We do not store your PDF files after processing
  • We do not store the extracted table data on our servers
  • We do not share any data with third parties for advertising
  • We do not use cookies for tracking
  • We do not access your existing Google Drive files

Local Processing Options

For maximum privacy, you can export tables directly to Excel (.xlsx) or CSV files. These exports are generated entirely in your browser and never touch our servers.

Data Storage

  • In your browser: Authentication token, email (if logged in), device ID, and preferences
  • On our servers: Account information and processing statistics (no file content)
  • In your Google Drive: Spreadsheets you create (owned by you, not us)

Your Rights

  • You can use the extension without logging in (anonymous mode)
  • You can revoke Google access at any time via Google Account Settings
  • You can uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data
  • You can request deletion of your account data by contacting us

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transfers, secure OAuth 2.0 for Google authentication, and immediate deletion of processed files.
